Prevent data loss easily and securely. With O&O DiskImage 5 you can create images of your entire computer or individual partitions during operations. If data loss occurs, your imaged data (files, folders, partitions) will be available to you in no time – even if Windows cannot be started anymore.
Advantages of taking an image
There are virus scanners, system restore points and you no doubt have your private data saved on an external hard disk. So why should you make an image with O&O DiskImage? An Image takes up much less space than a copy. You can set up regular images of just the latest changes to your system, as opposed to copying everything over and over again. With this image you are equipped to simple boot up your system and restore the image of your system, if disaster should strike.
Differences to previous versions
The new interactive DiskView offers an overview of the entire hard disk. Free and used space, and the size of individual partitions are displayed. The new additional compression process BZIP2 compresses data in blocks thus increasing the rate of compression. It is also possible to convert images into virtual drives (VHD) and to include them directly to the Microsoft Virtual PC – without previous installation of O&O DiskImage.
Prevent data loss with time-scheduled imaging
With the help of a useful Wizard you can set that the data will be imaged regularly at predefined times. Differential and incremental images can now also be created automatically.
Exclusive methods for data backup
O&O DiskImage offers different imaging methods and you can choose between a space-saving used sector image and an all encompassing forensic image for the purposes of data recovery. You save space with an incremental or differential image: only data sectors which have changed will be imaged.
Quick and convenient restoration
The BareMetal technology enables you to immediately restore a system using O&O DiskImage 5 without prior installation.
Restore individual files
Both full and incremental images can be mounted as virtual drives. This enables you to access individual files or folders directly, without restoring the whole image. The virtually imaged drive acts like a real drive, but is protected and cannot be overwritten.
