What is Softwareload?

At Softwareload you can download and instantly use Software of your choice. Besides Credit Card Payment services such as PayPal and ClickandBuy are available.

A particularly useful feature for registered customers is “My Softwareload”. Here you will have an overview of all of your downloaded software titles and their associated license keys. Previously purchased titles can be downloaded again if needed two years from the date of purchase. Please note, that this requires us to store your transaction data in “My Softwareload”. For more information and our policy about the storing of your transactional data, please refer to the privacy policy.

How can I register on Softwareload?

Select the option "Create account" on the registration page and complete the mandatory fields. Your e-mail address and password are needed for future login to Softwareload. By clicking the "Send" button you confirm the details you have entered.

Where and how can I login to Softwareload?

Whenever you enter a page or function in Softwareload where registration is required, you will be prompted to login. Alternatively, you have the opportunity to login directly in the upper right side of the page. Once logged in you will have access to "My Softwareload” and all the benefits on offer.

Where can I delete my user account?

If you want to delete your Softwareload user account, please keep in mind that this will delete any stored information such as your user history and associated download options. When cancelling your contract with Softwareload your right to the one-year Softwareload Download guarantee expires.

I have forgotten my password – what can I do?

Should you forget your password, you can request a new password in the "Forgot Password" function. The password will be sent to you by entering your email address. The password will be generated by an automated system and can (and should) be changed later in "My Account".

Which Operating System is required to use software from Softwareload?

The system requirements depend on the particular software and may differ from one to the other.

On each product page on Softwareload, you will find information about supported operating systems and other software related information at the top on the right.

Why do I have to download more than one file for some Software?

Software with large file sizes are most of the time offered on Softwareload as part-downloads of about 640 MB per file. This means that if your Software Download isn’t fully completed, there is no need to re-download the entire Software program, only the file in question, when the download was interrupted.

If your Software is larger than only one file, please save all files of your Software in the same directory on your hard drive. The files are in most cases displayed in the following sequence:

  1. Program.exe
  2. Program-1
  3. Program-2
  4. Program-3
  5. ...

Once you've downloaded all the files of your Software and once you have unzipped them, please run the installation program by clicking on the file with the extension ".exe" (if you hide the file extensions, this is the file whose name doesn’t end with a digit).

Should the installation not be possible and an error message appears, a file might have been corrupted during the download. Please download the files again and start the installation once more.

How much disk space do I need to use my Software?

The download size of your Software can be found in the upper right area on the product page. As a rule, the space required to install the program is defined in the “system requirements” area.

If you want to install your Software, you must first download it. The Software program, as well as the installation process uses disk space, so you must also check that you have enough free hard disk capacity equalling at least twice the size of the Software Program.

If the file is compressed (the file is often stored in a compressed format to keep the download file size as small as possible), once again, please note that hard disk space is required to unpack the files located in the zipped folder, in order to call the installation routine of the Software program.

For some Software it’s possible that more than the specified size is needed to install the Software (unless you have already deleted the zipped archive after unpacking the packed program). But beware that at least twice the size of the Software program is needed, because programs that are not packed must first be downloaded, and must additionally be installed, before use.

How can I open downloaded Software with the file extension Zip?

The software that we provide to our customers consists as a general rule of one or more files with the name "SoftwareXY.zip". The ZIP format is a common file compression format. It is used to compress files to save space and therewith to keep the download size, download time and file size as short and small as possible.

To open files with the extension "zip", you need a program to unzip the files. Softwareload has several Software programs that you can use to open zip folders.

After extraction, you should find a file called "SoftwareXY.exe" or "setup.exe", if you display the file extensions in your Explorer. Double click this file and follow the instructions to install it. If license keys are needed, you can find them either after extraction as a text file or in your personal Download Center "My Softwareload".

How do I install a downloaded Software?

If you have downloaded Software, start the installation by double-clicking the Software icon in the download directory on your hard drive, the file is typically called "Setup.exe" or "Autorun.exe.

If a Software program is split into more than one file all files of the program must be placed in the same directory on your hard drive in order to install it.

Some Software downloads are prepared as a packaged archive. In this case, you will be prompted to specify a folder where the files of the program will first be unpacked after clicking on the file with the extension "exe". Thereafter, either the installation process starts automatically, or you must do a click on the file "Setup.exe" within the pre-selected folder (for some Software the file is called Autorun.exe).

If you receive an error message after downloading, or if you are unable to install the Software, please repeat the download process. For this purpose, there is a personal Download Centre available in "My Softwareload", where you can find all your downloads and license keys.

Can I download the Software into a directory of my choice?

Yes, it is possible. The data will be stored in a temporary folder. However, if you right click on the "Download" button, you can choose "Save Target As ..." and choose the download folder by yourself.

Can I install the Software into the directory of my choice?

Yes, it is possible. Normally, the Softwareload programs are saved in the folder 'C:\ Program Files'. But you can always change this path during the installation and install it to another folder or to another hard drive.

How long does a download take?

Download times varies for each Software, depending on the download size and the type of the internet connection.

How do I obtain technical support for my Software?

Please beware that the advisory for Software downloads from Softwareload related to questions about your download or access to the products (System Requirements) is restricted.

Advising on product-specific questions and technical problems related to your software is the responsibility of the respective manufacturer. Contact details are usually available in the Help function in your Software.

If the manufacturer fails to assist, then please contact us. We will then try to find a satisfying solution for you.

How much VAT do I pay at Softwareload?

As Softwareload is based in Germany, German VAT (19%) is applicable. This also means that as of the 4th January 2011, customers benefit from 1% less VAT in comparison to that of other non Germany-based competitors.

If I buy Software, what do I get?

At Softwareload you usually get the complete and full version of the program in digital form, as offered in store. In contrast to purchase in the store you will not get a CD or DVD, printed manuals or packaging. Many manufacturers offer a download version of their programs. The Download version may differ from the CD-/DVD-Version. You can usually identify the version by reading the help section in your e-version.

How does it work to purchase a Software download on Softwareload?

At the product page click on "Buy Full Version" and follow the instructions (An Internet Connection is necessary for this). If you are not registered at Softwareload yet, you must first register at Softwareload. Then you have the choice to pay the program by credit card, PayPal and ClickandBuy.

After you have completed the purchasing process, you can download your program from "My Softwareload".

How do I find my Software?

All the Software you have purchased can be found in "My Softwareload" under the tab "My Downloads”.

How do I activate Software I purchased from Softwareload?

After you have installed and run the Software program, you will be prompted to enter a license key to unlock the Software (for some Software this happens during the installation). Tap the key found in "My Softwareload".

Please note that some of our Software use online activation. This means that you have to ensure that:

  1. Your PC is connected to the internet.
  2. Make sure that Firewalls or similar programs don’t block access to the Internet, or the authentication server of the manufacturer might not be able to check the authenticity of your serial number / your license key (also called Serial Key).

Please enter your license key with greatest care and make sure you have input the correct license key.

If your license key is not accepted, it could be of the following reasons: You may have typed the number zero instead of the letter "O" or inadvertently inserted a space. It is best to select the appropriate license key that is displayed on "My Softwareload" and then copy it using the function Ctrl + C subsequently followed by pasting the license key using the function Ctrl + V into the input box to make sure that the key was entered correctly. If you still have problems using your software after this, please contact us so that we can verify the key.

How can I obtain my invoice again, if I have lost the original e-mail?

Am I allowed to create a backup copy of downloaded Software?

You can burn the downloaded Software from Softwareload at any time on a CD or DVD to archive it as a backup. In "My Softwareload" you always have the possibility to download the programs again and unlock them using your license key (serial key).

What can I do, if all Software bought from Softwareload were deleted after formatting my PC?

You can download your purchased Software again at all time from "My Softwareload", even if you haven’t made a backup.

May I install and activate a purchased Software coincident on two systems?

No, by accepting General Terms & Conditions of Softwareload you have agreed to install and activate a program you have purchased only on one System. However, you can always uninstall the program on one PC and re-install it onto another PC.

For some Software multi-user licenses are available, typically 3 or 5 user licenses. You can install this software on the numbers of computers corresponding to the number of user licenses you bought.

I have bought a new PC. May I install and activate my downloaded Software on it?

You may only install and activate your purchased Software on one PC at the time. If you buy a new PC, you can of course install and activate the purchased Software on it, but you will have to ensure that these Software have been completely uninstalled from your old computer, before installing them on the new.
